Hannah English

MA, RCC
I believe in slowing down, creating space, and listening deeply. In a world that often encourages us to push past our feelings or move quickly toward solutions, I offer a place for you to pause, where you can sit with your emotions, get curious about them, and begin building a more compassionate relationship with yourself. What we resist tends to persist—and there's something powerful about turning toward what we feel, rather than away from it. Avoiding or distracting ourselves can serve a purpose—sometimes it's what gets us through. But long-term, it often keeps us from healing in the ways we really need

I bring a warm, relational, and often emotionally expressive presence to the work I do. I truly love my job and the fact that we can laugh, cry, and feel it all —sometimes all in the span of a single session. I believe therapy can hold the full spectrum of human experience: joy, pain, confusion, hope, grief, and even moments of silliness. My role is to walk alongside you with honesty, empathy, and maybe the occasional well-timed bad (or good?) metaphor.

My approach is integrative and flexible, drawing from a variety of evidence-informed modalities like parts work (IFS), attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR, somatic practices, and self-compassion frameworks. While tools and strategies definitely have their place and often support meaningful change, I believe the heart of therapy lies in how we learn to relate to ourselves. The larger work is rarely about fixing—it's more often about understanding, connecting, and making space for your whole self.

I don't focus on just one "presenting issue" because I've found that most things—anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, trauma—tend to exist in the same emotional ecosystem. One feeling leads to another, one struggle pulls on the thread of something deeper. Rather than compartmentalize, I approach therapy with a lens of interconnectedness and curiosity. Additionally, while I truly believe there are beautiful teachings to learn from every generation, I generally work with clients aged 12 and up.

I bring both professional training and lived experience into the therapy space. I've supported people through a wide range of emotional terrain and draw from my own experiences navigating grief, anxiety, disordered eating, ADHD, and identity development. How I show up is also shaped by my blended European and Haudenosaunee (Mohawk) ancestral background, along with my roles in life as a daughter, sister, auntie, spouse, and friend.

If you're looking for a space to understand yourself — where you can be fully human and all of the things that come with that: messy, thoughtful, funny, grieving, healing — I'd love to hear from you.
