Biographies are not my strong suit. However, since you are willing to sit with me and tell me about yourself, it is only fair that you know something about me. I have been married for over 25 years, am a proud father of four beautiful daughters and one son, and have lived in Abbotsford, BC for almost my entire adult life.
I grew up in Salmo and Erie before moving to Langley at age 13. During those years, undiagnosed ADHD and depression impacted my school performance, experiences that ultimately prepared me for a career in the helping profession. Many times I draw on my own journey to relate to clients and offer compassion and companionship through suffering.
After a challenging mission serving Vietnamese refugees and an initial plan in sport psychology, I found my calling working at a residential addiction centre. There I recognized the need for compassion and understanding, principles I continue to apply in supporting clients through diverse mental health struggles.
My Master of Science in psychology focused on the neurophysiology of anger and anxiety, which remains my primary treatment focus, grounded in attachment theory. I incorporate psychoeducation, Dan Siegel's Mindsight, Gordon Neufeld's attachment perspective, Ross Greene's collaborative problem solving, and Gabor Maté's compassionate inquiry.
Away from counselling, I'm an avid songwriter and have a diverse athletic background. I strive to be transparent and genuine—clients appreciate how real I am, and many report significant progress even in our first session.

I believe in slowing down, creating space, and listening deeply. In a world that often encourages us to push past our feelings or move quickly toward solutions, I offer a place for you to pause, where you can sit with your emotions, get curious about them, and begin building a more compassionate relationship with yourself. What we resist tends to persist—and there's something powerful about turning toward what we feel, rather than away from it. Avoiding or distracting ourselves can serve a purpose—sometimes it's what gets us through. But long-term, it often keeps us from healing in the ways we really need

I bring a warm, relational, and often emotionally expressive presence to the work I do. I truly love my job and the fact that we can laugh, cry, and feel it all —sometimes all in the span of a single session. I believe therapy can hold the full spectrum of human experience: joy, pain, confusion, hope, grief, and even moments of silliness. My role is to walk alongside you with honesty, empathy, and maybe the occasional well-timed bad (or good?) metaphor.

My approach is integrative and flexible, drawing from a variety of evidence-informed modalities like parts work (IFS), attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR, somatic practices, and self-compassion frameworks. While tools and strategies definitely have their place and often support meaningful change, I believe the heart of therapy lies in how we learn to relate to ourselves. The larger work is rarely about fixing—it's more often about understanding, connecting, and making space for your whole self.

I don't focus on just one "presenting issue" because I've found that most things—anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, trauma—tend to exist in the same emotional ecosystem. One feeling leads to another, one struggle pulls on the thread of something deeper. Rather than compartmentalize, I approach therapy with a lens of interconnectedness and curiosity. Additionally, while I truly believe there are beautiful teachings to learn from every generation, I generally work with clients aged 12 and up.

I bring both professional training and lived experience into the therapy space. I've supported people through a wide range of emotional terrain and draw from my own experiences navigating grief, anxiety, disordered eating, ADHD, and identity development. How I show up is also shaped by my blended European and Haudenosaunee (Mohawk) ancestral background, along with my roles in life as a daughter, sister, auntie, spouse, and friend.

If you're looking for a space to understand yourself — where you can be fully human and all of the things that come with that: messy, thoughtful, funny, grieving, healing — I'd love to hear from you.

If you have made it this far in your journey to find support, you are already brave. I know from my own story and through learning from the stories of others, that taking the first step to actually reach out for help takes courage, determination, and strength. So, if you have made it even further and are reading about me here, I wonder what it is you would like to know? What would I want to know? Because if you are anything like me, you are likely reading a lot of these profiles and exploring websites, trying to get a feel for where you may find a good place to begin. While I believe reaching out to schedule a free 15 minute phone call with me will help the person behind these words feel more genuine and real, here are some other parts that may help you make that phone call…

Whether you're contemplating counselling, in the midst of a healing journey, or simply needing a little extra support, I'm so glad you're here. Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, and I would be honoured to walk alongside you. I see life as a story—one that includes beauty, joy, and connection, but also pain, hardship, and grief. Research tells us that 70% of people will experience trauma at some point in their lives. I am one of those people, and my own path through adversity, growth, and healing is what brought me to this work. I understand how difficult and intimidating it can be to sit across from someone new and share your inner world. That's why I strive to offer a space grounded in trust, warmth, and non-judgment—a space where you can exhale and be fully seen.

Like many who enter this field, my path to becoming a counsellor started with my own journey. Living with anxiety and ADHD, I've experienced the ups and downs with my self-worth, emotional dysregulation, the impacts of spiritual trauma, and navigating challenges in relationships.
I've also walked through the difficult but rewarding (albeit ongoing) process of spiritual deconstruction and reconstruction, grappling with identity, belonging, and rebuilding values and beliefs.
Wherever you might find yourself—whether in grief, anxiety, stress, relational conflict, trauma, or self-doubt—you are welcome here. I take a trauma-informed approach focusing on relational safety and equipping you with tools for grounding, confidence, and alignment with the life you want.

I look forward to supporting individuals and couples with issues related to ADHD, anxiety, anger, challenges with family, friends, and relationships, as well as life transitions. As a South Asian woman, I understand the important role that culture can play in one's life and welcome these conversations in our work together. I provide trauma-informed therapy using a holistic, client-centered, and strength-based lens. My practice emphasizes emotions and attachment; seeing individuals as unique, I am adaptable to the needs of my clients. Above all, I prioritize the creation of a safe and trusting space for us to work in.
My approach is collaborative; I ensure a safe space to explore and process while also providing tools and resources that can be used beyond session. I believe knowledge is power and when empowered, humans can grow in meaningful ways. I aspire to leave clients with a deeper understanding of themselves, which I see as a great strength in pushing forward.
I feel deeply honoured to be doing this work; witnessing the evolution of my clients who let me into their growth fulfills me and I am committed to helping you on your journey. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you and get started on the path to your well-being.

Like many in the helping field, pursuing a career as a counsellor stems from both personal and professional experiences. These experiences have fueled my drive and passion for providing support and guidance to those needing help. Within my own life, I have faced and overcome abuse and addiction, all while learning to navigate society with a widely misunderstood learning disability (ADHD).
My mission is to teach and instil hope in others who feel as if they are inferior, minimized, or unheard. I help in this way by empowering individuals, couples, and families to tell their stories, understand themselves, and make a difference in their lives and communities, all while discovering their strengths and resiliencies.
I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor's degree in psychology and I am currently completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology degree at Adler University. In addition to this formal education, I have work experience supporting my fellow humans struggling with addiction, depression, anxiety, psychosis, suicide ideation, trauma, and violence.
I have been told that I help people feel safe and accepted by providing a space to be vulnerable, while highlighting the client's right to self-determination.
