Even though it looked different at different times, I've come to realize that I have struggled with anxiety for almost my whole life. Sometimes it looked like perfectionism. Sometimes it looked like guilt. Sometimes it looked like taking care of everyone else's feelings.
One of the ways that I have come to recognize all of these different ways that anxiety shows up in my life has been through my own journey in therapy.
Those realizations, even though they're uncomfortable, also open a door to understand our lives, how we got to where we are, what's really going on, and what can be done about it, even if the answer ultimately lies in acceptance.
This eye-opening process has brought me to now having the chance to help others, as a safe person, a listening ear, and as someone who may have walked in very similar shoes as yourself.
As a therapist, my aim is to create a space where you feel safe to share openly without fear of being judged. I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of therapy and I want to ensure that when you come in to meet with me you feel like you're talking to a real person and not a weird robot therapist.
As we work together, I am eager to explore the different parts of you and hope to help you learn that "irrational" fears or worries are really just your brain trying to protect you.
Outside of work, I definitely consider myself to be more of a homebody. I love to read, travel, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family. I have moved around BC a little bit but currently live with my husband in Langley.
